I have been asked what exactly I think I'm doing. All I seem to do is cut some pictures out and then stick them all together. What's the point? What's so special about that?
My answer, "Could you do it? Yes!? So then give it a try. What's stopping you?" I specifically choose to start this journey of creating one artwork a day for 365 days using collage because it is something everyone can do. I am not creating some magical, unattainable piece of artwork. I am doing something each and everyone of you can do too.
Just try it once. Set some time aside for yourself to just sit down and create a collage. Take special care to notice how you are feeling before you start, and then take account of how you feel once you are done. I guarantee that you will feel different at the end of just that one collage.
You have to put away your judgement though - as difficult as it may be. Don't make the process about creating something you love. It's not about having a beautiful piece at the end of your session. That is just a bonus.
This project is all about the process and the amazing effect creating has on our lives. So stop worrying about the result. In time you will love those too - I promise.
Intuitively creating collages is easy, efficient, fun and expressive. Creating an intuitive collage simply involves cutting out, gluing and assembling various images to create a brand new picture. Your image does not need to make rational sense. Just quiet your mind, choose imagery from your heart, and just play.
